These were the Digital Building Days

The Digital Building Days are over: three days packed with exciting presentations, expert talks, product innovations and assembly demonstrations. The highlights of our online event are now available as recordings for those who couldn’t participate.

A programme full of highlights

Liveable buildings

It is difficult to single out highlights among the numerous exciting contributions - after all, the programme as a whole was well-rounded and coherent. The focus of the contributions: realising livable buildings. That is our goal, our claim and at the same time our challenge. The keynote speech by Björn Kage, Managing Director Sales Germany, provided interesting impulses.
The expert discussion with architect Marco Sperling addressed the question: What do livable buildings of the future look like? What are the challenges, especially with regard to climate protection and rising energy prices?

Certification of buildings

In the expert discussion with the lawyer Ministerial Director (ret.) Michael Halstenberg from the DGNB Legal Committee, everything revolved around the topic of "Defective certification - what are the liability risks?". Here the focus was on the certification of the sustainability of buildings. It was shown what is important in certification and what must be observed. Furthermore, the question of liability in the case of mistakes in certification was highlighted.

Building Information Modeling

Building Information Modeling (BIM) facilitates comprehensive, integrated planning. It allows users to pursue sustainable project targets and strategies, from the initial plans for a building through to its demolition. Our expert Olaf Thies demonstrated how to do this based on clear examples, right down to the details of complex planning projects.

Accessible self rescue

There were also lively discussions on the topic of "Accessible self-rescue: ZiE or vBG" during the live expert discussion with fire protection expert Maynhard Schwarz and the specialist planner for doors and windows at GEZE, Oliver Roth. They addressed questions such as: "What is a ZiE (consent in individual cases), what is a vBG (project-related type approval), when are they necessary and how are they applied for?"

Fire protection & accessibility

In the expert talk "fire protection and accessibility - how do they go together?" our expert and seminar leader Olaf Thies was able to resolve the conflict of requirements between fire protection and accessibility in the field of fire protection doors using practical examples and solutions.

It is not only a visual highlight: with its minimal canopy height of only 75 mm, it also comes with 30% less energy consumption and can be installed quickly and easily.
Insights into GEZE production

Insights into production

Jasmina Brenner provided exciting insights into the manufacturing processes in mini-series "Insights into production". With a focus on customer proximity, efficiency and sustainability, she presented all the important points in the production process of GEZE products.

Quality assurance: the essential thing for satisfied customers

Adam Rypel, Head of Validation & Benchmarking, and Rouven Pesch from Product Quality Assurance presented the GEZE quality on the topic of "Quality assurance of safety-relevant products". They gave insights into our products from development to ongoing QA in the manufacturing process and showed how the safety of our products is guaranteed and constantly tested.

Energy-efficient construction

How can an optimal, sustainable ventilation concept be implemented? Which guidelines have to be observed? Our expert Sören Eilers explains in his presentation "Energy-efficient building - planning & design of intelligent window ventilation" how intelligent window ventilation can support energy-efficient construction. Using numerous practical examples and simulations, he shows how GEZE window drives enable natural ventilation, solar gain and night-time back cooling - and thus effectively contribute to sustainability goals.

Connecting Expertise: Lively exchange

Following the events, there was a lively further discussion in the chats with the speakers and experts. In the virtual conference room, which was available to our customers throughout the entire event, two GEZE consultants answered all questions about our products and relevant topics and offered personal tours of our virtual trade fair stand.

The outstanding highlight for us was the lively participation of installation engineers, planners and architects - not only from Germany. We are very pleased with the positive feedback and hope that all participants were able to take with them many new impulses.

Virtual trade fair booth: Experience our product highlights live

During the daily "guided tour" of our virtual trade fair booth, our GEZE consultant presented the products and solutions on display and gave an insight into our new products: from the new TS 5000 SoftClose door closer to the MSW Comfort sliding wall system and the GEZE INAC access control system. Here it became clear in a live impression how the products are installed and how they work in interaction with other products and components. Missed an insight?
